The balloons in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade can be as tall as five stories high! If you could design your own parade balloon…what would it look like? One fifth grade class in Strongsville, Ohio did just that.

Another Thanksgiving tradition? Football! Your neighborhood or school might have its own Turkey Bowl game, or you might be sitting down with your family after dinner to watch the NFL — fun fact: the Detroit Lions have played on Thanksgiving Day every year since 1934!

Speaking of football…this year, the NFL announced a rule that allows players to wear Guardian Caps (a type of protective headgear) during games.

We talked to Kylen Granson, a tight end for the Indianapolis Colts, about why he chooses to wear one. Here’s some of what he said:

“Younger students, younger players, I could definitely see the need for it because anything you can do to help protect from any TBIs [traumatic brain injuries], any concussions, would be very helpful!”
